Intel-NMU contest winners announced

Northern Michigan University has announced the results of the second annual Intel-NMU App Programming Contest. The awards ceremony was held recently after teams of computer science students spent the previous five weeks programming promising smart phone applications using Intel technology. The Thunder Ducks finished first for its app, “Mosaic,” a collaborative jukebox.

Vehicle break-ins investigated

A 19 year old Marquette man was arrested early this morning for Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle to steal property. He was stopped by an officer after he reportedly broke into two vehicles on the east side of Marquette. The suspect had several stolen items on his person.

The individuals and organizations that positively impact the City of Marquette through art were honored Friday night for the 16th Annual Arts Awards. The City of Marquette Art and Culture Center held the awards ceremony tonight in conjunction with the Lake Superior Art Association's 36th Annual Member Show.
