More About TV5&10 Randy Spieth Sports DirectorRandy Spieth joined ABC 10/CW5 in July of 2008 as the Sports Director. Before coming to the U.P., Randy worked as a news reporter and sports reporter and anchor at KDUH, an ABC affiliate in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
Randy grew up in Corydon, Indiana, the first state capital of the Hoosier State, and attended Indiana University, where he received a degree in Telecommunications.
During college, Randy interned at WLKY in Louisville, Kentucky for two summers, learning the ropes of the broadcasting industry. While the spring semester wasn\'t over in time for him to see the Kentucky Derby, he still got to enjoy the remaining two legs of the Triple Crown each summer, and is still upset that Smarty Jones didn\'t win the Belmont in 2004.
Plus, he also got the chance to see Packers quarterback Brian Brohm before he came to Green Bay.
For the short time that Randy has been in the business, he says the thing he enjoyed the most that he covered was Chadron State\'s running back Danny Woodhead, who last season became the all-time leading rusher in NCAA history.
Randy has spent a lot of time in Michigan before arriving in the U.P. Each summer his family would reunite downstate at his grandparents house, and is excited to call Michigan his home.
Randy is glad to be closer to his family once again. And when he is not spending time with his family and friends, he enjoys watching the game in person or just in front of his television, or getting out on the field and playing the game himself.
